The Tehran Cardiovascular Educational, Research, and Treatment Center is affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The center is staffed by a dedicated team of experts and equipped with advanced medical technology to provide the highest quality educational and therapeutic services to its patients.By leveraging international quality management models, this center has achieved top rankings for its adherence to domestic and international regulations and standards. In recognition of its capabilities and facilities, a leading European cardiology journal has hailed it as a "Cardiac Center of Excellence." With a capacity of 470 inpatient beds, eleven open-heart surgery rooms, and six catheterization laboratories, the center performs over 3,500 cardiac surgeries of various types annually. Moreover, it conducts more than 15,000 specialized procedures in its catheterization laboratories each year.
The center's diverse and comprehensive inpatient units distinguish it as a unique facility for patient care. The presence of paraclinical and outpatient departments, including specialized clinics, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiography, stress testing, arrhythmia, and syncope clinics, further highlights the hospital's specialized nature.
The presence of a well-equipped diagnostic laboratory, imaging departments including CT scan, MRI, nuclear medicine, and a modern cardiac rehabilitation unit further enhances the center's capabilities, completing the treatment process. Tehran Heart Center, with its experienced staff and full-time faculty, has successfully trained numerous cardiology and cardiovascular surgery residents and fellows annually.
The center's research and development department, in collaboration with experienced physicians and faculty, has conducted extensive clinical and experimental research. The department has established 11 databases related to cardiovascular diseases, and an animal laboratory equipped with an operating room, ICU, and a dedicated animal catheterization laboratory for research purposes.
In addition to domestic research projects, the Cardiovascular Research Institute has participated in various international collaborative projects in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The results of these projects have been published or are in the final stages of publication. Annually, over 110 scientific articles are published in reputable international scientific journals.
The Tehran Heart Center's quarterly scientific journal, indexed in PubMed, showcases a vast collection of domestic and international research articles. With a workforce of around 1400 individuals comprising physicians, nurses, skilled technicians, and support staff, this comprehensive medical, educational, and research center provides top-tier services that align with international ISO 9001 and 2000 standards. The center has also earned the prestigious international BTS certification.
The center offers a full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient medical services to international patients through its dedicated International Patient Department (IPD).
