More than 10,000 cases of trans thoracic, 1000 cases of trans esophageal and 400cases of stress echocardiography are performed in this department enjoying the latest imaging modalities; the new imaging devices with real time reporting systems. And physicians attaining Board certificate for adults and children echocardiograms interpret the studies. Achieving new methods of real time three-dimensional trans thoracic and trans esophageal echocardiography and two-dimensional speckle strain imaging modality this department is one of the most prestigious and advanced ones in all over the country. In addition to more than 50,000 cases of trans thoracic and 3000 cases of esophageal echocardiograms every year, also there are there are a significant number of stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, tissue Doppler imaging, deformation and strain imaging, intra operative echocardiograms specially during some new treatment methods such as percutaneous trans catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and Mitraclip trans catheter mitral valve repair.
This department is also active in the realm of education and is one of the two centers authorized to train echocardiography fellowship, approved by ministry of health and medical education.
This department also has activities in the field of research, presentation and holding symposiums and there are a significant number of articles published annually in credible scientific journals by this department attending physicians and fellows.
